Everything a Mac torrent client needs.

Built with SwiftUI. Behaves like a Mac app, looks like a Mac app, follows the system theme and language.

Apple Silicon native

Universal binary. Runs natively on Apple Silicon chips and on Intel Macs. No Rosetta, no virtualization, low CPU usage.

Magnet and .torrent

Paste any magnet link or drag a .torrent file. Set TorrentPilot as the default handler for both in one click.

Per torrent speed limits

Right click any torrent and pick a download or upload cap from a preset list (100 KB/s to 1 MB/s) or enter your own.

Smart queue

Reorder torrents, pause, resume. The queue and progress survive restarts and crashes. Resume data is saved every 30 seconds.

Menu bar mode

See total download and upload speed in the menu bar. Add a magnet, pause everything, or open the main window without leaving full screen apps.

No ads, no telemetry

No accounts. No personalized ads. No third party trackers. Just a torrent client that does its job and stays out of your way.

Launch at login

Optional: have TorrentPilot start with macOS so seeds keep going without you opening the app.

9 languages built in

English, Русский, Español, Deutsch, Français, Italiano, Português, 日本語, 简体中文. Follows system language by default.

Built in updates

The app checks for new versions on launch. Install with one click. No App Store required.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers to what people usually ask.

Is TorrentPilot really free?

Yes. There is no subscription, no paid tier, no ads. Download, install, use.

Will it run on Apple Silicon Macs?

Yes. The build is universal and runs natively on any Mac with an M-series chip. It also works on Intel Macs.

Which macOS versions does it support?

macOS 13+.

Does it support magnet links?

Yes. Paste a magnet link in the dialog or click any magnet link in the browser after setting TorrentPilot as the default handler.

Should I use this instead of qBittorrent?

If you want a real Mac feel, yes. qBittorrent uses Qt on macOS so the windows and menus look slightly off. TorrentPilot is SwiftUI and behaves like Finder, Mail or Messages.

Is uTorrent still good for Mac?

The Mac version of uTorrent has been stagnating for years and is not Apple Silicon native. Most users have moved on to alternatives.
